The 3 teams you need when selling your home

Look at any well staged home – you may not guess that there were an array of people behind it. There’s the elbow grease gang, the professional experts and the real estate agents.

All of these teams are absolutely vital to the re-sale of your home. Without all of them working together, getting that high bid come sale day might not be possible.

So who’s who and why do you need them all?

1. Cleaning: The elbow grease gang

As the name suggests, these are the people who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. They are most commonly the property owners, their friends and family and in some cases, hired labour. Their jobs include de-cluttering, cleaning, organising, packing, gardening and small repairs.

2. Finishing touches: The professional experts

They come next and include professional home stagers, building inspectors, handymen, landscape gardeners, movers and tradies. It’s these people, in cahoots with the elbow grease gang, who get the home market ready.

But really, that’s only half the equation. After all, if no one’s marketing a property, even the best dressed home will go for under budget. This is when your final team comes into play.

3. Breaking the deal: The real estate agents

Some questions to consider when selecting the right real estate are:

  • Are they personable?
  • Are they honest?
  • Do they have great communication skills?
  • Do they know your property like the back of their hand?
  • Do they have an excellent sales track record?

This is a good start to help you on the hunt for the perfect team, but make sure, more than anything, that you trust your gut. After all, no one knows your property the way you do.

Get the help you need but just make sure you do your research and trust your intuition.
